apple-iphone-6s-rumors-aaplChips: Apple (AAPL) iPhone 6s may have less chips in it than the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, reports 9to5Mac. A comparison of what is believed to be the logic board for the iPhone 6s has been compared to the one found in the current generation of iPhones. A close look at the two boards shows that the one for the 6s has an upgraded NFC chip. The logic board also has less chips in it when compared to the ones used in the iPhone 6. The chips that do remain are smaller than previous ones and will likely use less power. The new logic board also has the ability to hold 16GB of memory.

iPhone: What appears to be schematics for Apple’s iPhone 6s have been leaked, BGR notes. The new schematics were posted online and haven’t been confrimed by Apple. However, they do show changes to the iPhone 6s that many previous rumors have claimed would be coming. The biggest change is that the device will possibly be 7.1mm thick. This is thicker than the 6.9mm thick iPhone 6. It’s believed that the new smartphone will be thicker due to additional Force Touch technology.

Launch: A new rumor claims that Apple will release the iPhone 6s in September, reports Digital Trends. According to this rumor, the new generation iPhone will be released on September 11 and will be available in stores on September 18. The source of this rumor claims to have gotten their information from a Foxconn insider. However, it’s unlikely that someone inside the supply chain would know the launch date of the device this early in its rumored production.
