Hugo Boss Pledges to Go ‘Fur Free’ Next Year

Hugo Boss has pledged to go “fur free” beginning next year.

Hugo BossThe company said in a statement that none of its products will include animal fur, beginning with its Fall/Winter 2016 collection. Hugo Boss said obtaining fur from animals requires cruel and unethical practices.

“In our view, sourcing down feathers from the plucking of live animals is not ethical and we have therefore taken the decision to reject this practice,” the company wrote.

The Human Society praised Hugo Boss’ initiative, saying other companies should follow suit, “especially since there are now so many cruelty-free alternatives that are fashionable and indistinguishable from the real thing.”
