Walmart (WMT) has announced that it will be competing with Amazon (AMZN) for online sales on its Prime Day.

walmart-sale-amazon-prime-dayWalmart announced that it plans to offer thousands of deals on Wednesday, July 15, 2015, to compete with Amazon Prime Day. The retailer has also lowered its minimum purchase for free shipping to $35 to match Amazon, reports CNNMoney.

Walmart also took a stab at Amazon during it’s announcement by saying that there was no admission fee to get its deals. Fernando Madeira, CEO of Walmart, said that it doesn’t make sense to have to pay for deals. Prime Day requires a Prime account, which costs $99 a year, CNNMoney notes.

Amazon Prime Day will offer deals in several different countries. These countries include the U.S., U.K., Spain, Japan, Italy, Germany, France, Canada and Austria. The deals will start at midnight on Wednesday.

WMT shares were up slightly as of Noon Monday.
