Facebook’s virtual reality app is reportedly still in its early stages of development and there’s no set time when it will be released. The purpose of the app is to allow users to see 360-degree videos on their smartphones. The app isn’t expected to be as immersive as the experience offered by the company’s Oculus Rift virtual reality headset, reports Wall Street Journal.

Facebook has been focusing more on virtual reality ever since it bought Oculus Rift for $2 billion in 2014. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of the social media company, has been talking up virtual reality lately and says that 360-degree videos will soon be available in users’ News Feeds, WSJ notes.

Facebook’s Oculus Rift will be holding a developer’s conference in Los Angeles next week. It’s unknown if any details regarding the new app will be revealed at the conference, reports PC Magazine.
