RIP Thomas Stemberg: Staples Founder Dies at 66

Staples founder Thomas Stemberg died at age 66.

The former CEO of the company passed away earlier this morning following a long battle with cancer. Staples was founded by Stemberg and others in 1986.

Stemberg’s recent moves include leading the charge for the Highland Consumer Fund, a venture capital and growth equity group focused on consumer companies.

The former Staples CEO invested in a number of companies such as Pinkberry and Lululemon. He was serving on the boards of directors at Lululemon, Guitar Center and Pharmaca.
