The next version of Google Glass (NASDAQ:GOOG,NASDAQ:GOOGL) may not have Glass.
The tech giant announced that it may get rid of one version of Google Glass and ship out two options, one of which does not contain the ‘Glass’ component of it.
One version of Google Glass will feature a screen, the feature that makes the smart gadget appealing to many. A head-mounted version will also be released that will not include a screen for users with no intention of using it in an augmented reality capacity.
It would be designed for “sport” users, using bone conduction and work as “headphones worn on your face,” Google says.
GOOG stock is down 0.71% Tuesday. GOOGL stock is down 0.75%.
