apple-rumors-lg-display-oled-aaplBeta: Apple (AAPL) has released iOS 9.2.1 to the general public, reports MacRumors. The release of iOS 9.2.1 is the first update to the mobile operating system since it was introduced last year. It includes several bug fixes for issue that were present in iOS 9.2. Included in these fixes is one for the Mobile Device Management issue that has been a problem for some users. The update is small in nature and can be downloaded over the air.

Li-Fi: Apple may be preparing to add Li-Fi to a future version of its iPhone, BGR notes. For those who don’t know, Li-Fi is the next step in data transmission after Wi-Fi. It transfers data via light and is much faster than Wi-Fi. Code inside of iOS 9 was discovered by a jailbreaker and it hints at the idea that AAPL may be looking at the technology. However, Li-Fi tech is still early in development and it has several drawbacks that aren’t present in Wi-Fi, which means it won’t likely show up in iPhones in the near future.

LG: A new rumor claims that LG Display is preparing to increase production of curved OLED displays, reports AppleInsider. LG Display has been mentioned as one of the possible suppliers of OLED displays for a future version of the iPhone. The rumor of increased OLED production could hint that previous rumors of LG supplying OLED displays for iPhones is true. However, AAPL isn’t likely to start using OLED displays in its smartphones until 2018 at the earliest.
