The Good & Bad of DuPont (DD) Q4 Earnings

DuPont (DD) reported earnings for the fourth quarter of 2015 today.

dupont-ddDuPont’s earnings per share for the fourth quarter of 2015 came in at 27 cents. This is down from the 57 cents that it reported during the same time last year. However, it was able to surpass analysts’ expectations, which had EPS coming in at 25 cents.

DuPont reported revenue of $5.3 billion for Q4 2015. This is down 8% from the year prior. It also failed to meet Wall Street’s estimates, which had DD reporting revenue of $5.5 billion.

DuPont reported that it completed a $2 billion accelerated share repurchase program. It also said that it would pay out a dividend of 38 cents per share during its first quarter of 2016.

DuPont’s outlook for 2016 has it expecting earnings per share ranging from $2.95 to $3.10 for the year. It expects positive results from cost saving efforts, but also said that a tough market and strong currency could negatively impact it in 2016.

DD shares were up 1% as of Noon Tuesday.
