Skype announced that it will finally block the ISP addresses of its users.
As of now, Microsoft (NASDAQ:MSFT) is making IP addresses on Skype hidden by default. The company recently added the option of hiding your address on the video chatting application.
Today’s update makes it a default option on Skype. Gamers are often hit with distributed denial of service (DDoS) attacks because rivals can look up their Skype ID and use a resolver service to find an IP address and overwhelm it with traffic, knocking someone offline.
MSFT stock is up 3.4% Friday.
