Target (NYSE:TGT) may be losing half a million conservative shoppers soon.
A Christian group of more than 500,000 have signed a petition to boycott the retailer due to its transgender bathroom policy.
The company allows transgender customers to use the bathroom of the gender they identify with. The conservative boycotters denounce Target’s policy, urging the company to make its bathroom goers use their birth sex.
A Target spokesman responded to the group’s comments, turning down their request due to the retailer’s policy of respect and inclusion for shoppers of all sexual identities.
TGT stock is up 0.3% Monday.
