Here are your Apple Rumors for today:

Apple, AAPL, Apple Rumors, iPhone 7 PreorderAdapter: Images of what appear to be Apple’s (AAPL) Lightning to headphone jack adapter have shown up online, reports MacRumors. The possible adapter shown in the images has a Lightning connector that plugs into a smartphone’s port and a small cable leading off of it that has an opening for a 3.5mm headphone jack. The item in the images is closer in appearance to the company’s other adapters and could be the final design. The source of the rumor claims that it doesn’t work with iOS 9 or earlier devices, but that it’s instantly recognized by devices running the iOS 10 beta.

OLEDIHS Markit, a research firm, is expecting OLED’s to take off after Apple introduces them to its smartphones, AppleInsider. A research note from the firm claims that 40% of smartphones in 2020 could be equipped with OLED displays. It claims that AAPL will be one of the major companies to push OLED and will release a new smartphone with that type of display soon. Rumors claim it could come as early as 2017. The tech company currently only uses OLED displays in its Apple Watch.

Preorder: A prominent leaker of Apple information claims to know when the iPhone 7 will be available for preorder, reports BGR. Evan Blass claims that preorders for the iPhone 7 will open on Sept. 9, 2016. He said that readers can “extrapolate the launch event date from there.” This likely means that the company will announce the new smartphone on Sept. 6, 2016. If the company follows its most recent release trends for its iPhone devices, then the iPhone 7 will likely be released on September 25, 2016.
