Syneron Medical Ltd.’s (NASDAQ:ELOS) UltraShape Power fat destruction device has received FDA approval.
UltraShape Power is a device that uses “pulsed mechanical ultrasound energy” as a means of reducing a person’s fat without being invasive. Trials of the device have found it was able to reduce subcutaneous fat thickness in users by 32%.
UltraShape Power’s ultrasound energy that it sends into the body is targeted toward fat. It’s able to help break it up without causing harm to nerves, blood vessels or muscles. It can also offer customized treatments for different patients.
