Yum! Brands, Inc.’s Taco Bell Plans Big Expansion in Spain

Yum! Brands, Inc. (NYSE:YUM) and Taco Bell have announced a massive expansion in Spain.

Taco BellThe fast food chain is set to have a positive effect on the European country’s economy as it has announced that it will add 900 jobs by 2020. Over this span, Taco Bell will have 45 more restaurants in Spain, tallying up its total amount of restaurants in the country to 70.

The move will make Spain the European nation with the largest Taco Bell presence. Casual Brands Group of Madrid teamed up with Yum! Brands to help make this move a reality.

The company has been doing itself a lot of favors to expand its presence as it has launched promotions during some of the biggest sporting events in the world. Following a promotion in the NBA Finals, Taco Bell offered a free taco if someone stole a base during the World Series, which they did.

Yum! Brands recently debuted a new logo for Taco Bell, which is not as colorful as the old logo. The 90s look that the company carried with it for many years filled many with nostalgia, but some thought it was simply outdated. The new look is more contemporary and pared down.

The company also announced that it is hiring 100,000 new employees by 2022. The company currently has 6,000 locations stateside, and this number will rise to 9,000 by then.

YUM shares surged 0.7% Tuesday.
