The latest AR news comes from Snapchat — owned by Snap Inc (NYSE:SNAP) — looking to become relevant among art students everywhere.

AR NewsIt’s no secret that technology wizards and artists have been looking for ways to digitalize art and make it both fresh and appealing to younger generations. Now, Snapchat has teamed up with pop artist Jeff Koons for a unique augmented reality art project.

The video-sharing app makers have joined forces with the artist in order to offer fictional art that looks real when you bring your smartphone to specific locations around the world. The Koons pieces will only show up in these places, forcing you to get out of your house and hopefully go on a walk in the way that Pokemon Go does.

Koons won’t be the only artist featured on the augmented reality offering as artists will have the chance to sign up with the company and have their art featured around the world. Some of the areas of the world that will feature Snapchat-sponsored art include Las Vegas, Sydney and Paris.

The feature will be available thanks to a partnership between the company and Cimagine, an Israel-based AR startup acquired by Snapchat in December, according to a source that informed TechCrunch.

This isn’t Snapchat’s first venture into AR as there was the very popular dancing hot dog that popped up in people’s feeds, garnering more than 1.5 billion views on the app.

SNAP shares gained 0.3% Tuesday.
