Apple Will Pay Dividend: The Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) morning conference call headed by Tim Cook and CFO Peter Oppenheimer settled details around a pending dividend. Apple will pay about $2.65 per share, which comes to a yield of around 1.8% based on today’s price. Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) now stands alone as the sole tech company with a $100 billion-plus market cap not paying a dividend. Apple currently ranks as the world’s most valuable company at more than $550 billion, having far surpassed Exxon Mobil‘s (NYSE:XOM) $400 billion-plus standing.

Apple Hit by Piracy Accusations: A group of prominent Chinese writers have come forth with claims that Apple sold unlicensed versions of their work through its online store, the Washingon Post reports. Three joint suits have thus far been filed on their behalf through Beijing’s intermediate court. The authors claim that 59 of their books were sold without proper licensing and compensation, and the writers are demanding around $3.5 million in damages thus far. While Apple asserts stalwart respect for intellectual property, this would not be the first time questions have been raised about the security and legality of its online store. China’s Xinhua News Agency claims as of Sunday that the writers might pursue a full $7.7 million in damages.

Apple Secrets Leaked By Goldman Sachs Exec: A member of Goldman Sachs (NYSE:GS) was allegedly caught leaking protected secrets about both Apple and Intel (NASDAQ:INTC) last year, according to a lawyer for former board member Rajat Gupta. Mybroadband.com reported that the lawyer, Gary Naftalis, said the unnamed Goldman executive leaked well-contained information about Apple to Galleon Group founder and convicted felon Raj Rajaratnam. Naftalis asserts there is wiretap evidence of the disclosure breach.
