Adidas App Lets You Customize Your Kicks With Instagram Pics

Athletic shoe-maker Adidas (ADDYY) is planning to merge social media and apparel.

Adidas185Last week, Adidas teased an upcoming mobile app that will permit users to choose their favorite images from Facebook’s (FB) Instagram and have them printed on ZX Flux sneakers, Fashion Times notes.

The Adidas app will be available for Apple’s (AAPL) iPhones and smartphones running Google’s (GOOG) Android operating system.

In the video Adidas told potential customers that they will be able to “print your favorite photos straight on to one of 2014’s hottest silhouettes and make a statement on your sneakers like never before. Rolling out on iPhone and Android from August 2014. The possibilities are limitless.”

Adidas did not reveal the cost of the ZX Flux sneaks or any pricing information for the Adidas app.

Shares of Adidas fell modestly in Monday morning over-the-counter trading, while AAPL stock, FB stock and GOOG stock gained.
