Starwood Hotels (HOT) is testing robot butlers in one of its California hotels.
The Botlr — named A.L.O — is capable of fulfilling a guest’s request in no time. All the guest has to do is call the front desk, make a request and a Botlr will make its way to the elevator, navigate through hallways and deliver.
The robot butlers will be released as part of a pilot program that kicks off August 20 at the Aloft Hotel in Cupertino, CA. Starwood Hotels’ new toy will appear in close to 100 properties if the pilot is successful.
Start-up Savioke developed and built the Botlr in Sunnyville, CA. Starwood Hotels has an exclusive deal with the start-up through the end of the year.
HOT stock is down 0.29% Tuesday afternoon.
