The mysterious minivans are equipped with four cameras on the top of them. It’s been confirmed that the vehicles are leased to Apple, but what they’re doing is still unknown. One driver was asked just that and refused to tell, reports Business Insider.

It’s possible that Apple is working on its own street view service to challenge Google’s (NASDAQ:GOOG). It could also be that the company is working on its own-self driving cars. The tech company doesn’t have a licence to test self-driving cars, bu it could be working with a company that does, Business Insider notes.

Apple is also reportedly working on a new search engine. A job posting for a project manager to help in the creation of one was recently spotted online. It’s unknown if this relates to the company’s mysterious minivans in any way, reports Engadget.
