Facebook (NASDAQ:FB) will have to face a class-action lawsuit over kids’ purchases on the website.

The class-action lawsuit against Facebook is seeking refunds for parents whose children used their credit or debit cards to make purchases without their permission. Some parents allegedly tried to contact the social media company for refunds, but were shot down, reports USA Today.
The Facebook class-action lawsuit was approved by U.S. District Court Judge Beth Labson Freeman. However, the lawsuit doesn’t allow plaintiffs to pursue refunds together and they must be done separately. Facebook says that the claims made in the lawsuit are “without merit”, USA Today notes.
“We’re very pleased with the decision,” J R Parker, one of the plaintiffs lawyers, told The Guardian. “The difference between Facebook and other businesses is that the company is on actual notice of a user’s age, but treats children the same as adult users when it comes to taking their money.”
