When Consumer Reports first rated the Tesla Model S P85D it actually scored a 103. The scoring system is only meant to go up to 100. The publication adjusted its scores so that the electric vehicle didn’t break its standards and notes that this change doesn’t affect other cars’ scores.

While the Tesla Model S P85D did earn a 100 out of 100 from Consumer Reports, the publication notes that this doesn’t mean the vehicle is perfect. It noted that the inside of the car isn’t as luxurious as other high-cost automobiles. It also pointed out that long-distance driving can be limited due to the car’s need to be recharged roughly every 200 miles.

Now that the Tesla Model S P85D been given a perfect score from Consumer Reports, it’s knocked the previous best car from the top of the list. However, this likely won’t bother that vehicle’s maker, as it was the Tesla Model S with a score of 99 out of 100.
