Expansion: A new rumor claims that Apple (AAPL) is looking to expand the number of countries its sells its Watch in, reports Apple Rumors. According to the rumor, the tech company is planning to bring the smartwatch to Austria, Denmark and India sometime this month. It also claims that other countries may be included in the expansion, but they aren’t named. Rumors claim that the device will land in Austria on Sept. 15 and that may be the case for other countries as well. It’s possible that the expansion will be announced during Apple’s Sept. 9 event.
Smoke
: Apple has been granted a patent for various devices that could act as smoke detectors, AppleInsider notes. The patent details a series of sensors that could be included in devices, such as iPhones, wireless routers and more, that would be able to detect smoke in the air. In the case of the iPhone, the smoke sensors would likely be placed near the speaker and inside the camera of the smartphone. It’s possible that a smartphone, or other device, that has smoke sensors in it would be able to send alerts to authorities based on what it detects.
Shows: Rumor has it that Apple is looking to make its own original video content, reports Digital Trends. The rumor claims that AAPL is looking to hire a development team that could handle making new TV shows and movies for the company. The rumor claims that the team will likely be formed before the end of the year and that it will star making original content as early as 2016. It’s believed that the team will answer to Apple senior vice president of Internet Software and Services Eddy Cue. The new content could likely be exclusive to iTunes or also show up on the company’s rumored TV subscription service.
