A Britax recall for infant car seats has been announced by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

The Britax recall was put in place due to handles on certain infant car seats that can crack or break. This can result in the seat falling without warning and possible injuring coming to the infant in it. 74 cases of handles breaking or cracking have been reported and one injury has also been reported.
The Britax recall includes 71,000 units sold in the U.S., 3,900 units sold in Canada and 990 units sold in Mexico. The affected car seats were manufactured from Oct. 1, 2014 to July 1, 2015.
Here are the names and model numbers of the car seats in the Britax recall.
- B-Safe 35 — E9LU65M, E9LU65P, E9LU63F, E9LU66R, E9LS63F, EXLU65M.
- B-Safe 35 Elite — E9LS55T, E9LS56P, E9LS55U, E9LS66C, E9LS65U.
- B-Safe 35 Travel System — S914900, S915400, S915200, S921900, S01635200.
The Britax recall allows owners of the affected car seats to contact the company for a repair kit. Until the repair kit is installed, owners should use the handle to carry the infant seats. Customer can request the repair kit
