Wegmans Chicken Recall: What to Know

Wegmans is recalling 1,125 pounds of chicken products that weren’t inspected by the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

The affected Wegmens chicken products were shipped to distribution and retail locations in the following states.

  • Maryland
  • Massachusetts
  • New Jersey
  • New York
  • Pennsylvania
  • Virginia

The reason that the products in the Wegmans chicken recall were shipped without inspection had to do with a change is operating hours. Customers are advised not to consume affected prodcuts and instead return them for a full refund.

Here is a list of the products affected by the Wegmans chicken recall, which were produced on January 3.

  • 1-lb. packages containing “Wegmans Italian Flavored Chicken Breast Cutlet” with a use-by date of Jan. 24, 2016.
  • 1-lb. packages containing “Wegmans Brown Sugar Barbecue Seasoned Chicken Breast Cutlet” with a use-by date of Jan. 15, 2016.
  • 3-lb. packages containing “Wegmans Garlic & Fennel Whole Chicken Roaster” with a use-by date of Jan. 13, 2016.
  • 1-lb. packages containing “Wokery Sherry Chicken 27482” with use-by date of Jan. 13, 2016.
