The tech giant announced that its gigabit Internet service will be rolled out to San Francisco apartments, condos, and affordable housing properties. The announcement comes day after it was announced that Google Fiber’s coming to Huntsville, Alabama.

Google will not install its own fiber cables for the project. Instead, the company will use existing fiber to bring the service to the city quicker, doing some work outside and inside buildings to connect properties to the existing fiber.

The company has yet to reveal specifics of the deal, not disclosing how many apartments will be affected in San Francisco. Property owners can fill out a form to express interest on getting Google Fiber

The high-speed Internet service will “serve a portion of San Francisco, complementing the City’s ongoing efforts to bring abundant, high-speed Internet to the City by the Bay.”

Some affordable housing developments will have access to the Internet service for free.
