Where McDonald’s Is Testing Greek Yogurt Smoothies and Breakfast Bowls

McDonald’s Corporation (NYSE:MCD) is testing a series of breakfast products that use Chobani yogurt.

The burger chain is partnering with the Greek yogurt maker and rolling out parfaits and smoothies in Southern California in a big to become a “modern, progressive burger company.”

McDonald’s spokeswoman Lisa McComb says the two companies are limiting their test to a region of about 800 restaurants in Los Angeles and San Diego.

McDonald’s locations in Southern California are also testing two breakfast bowls. One consists of egg whites, turkey, sausage, spinach and kale, while the other contains scrambled eggs, chorizo and a hash brown.

It has yet to be determined whether or not the test will be expanded. These restaurants are also offering a “Simple Delights Menu,” which includes products such as apple slices, smoothies and the yogurt parfait made with Chobani.

McDonald’s recently announced that it is testing a chicken sandwich called the Chicken McGriddle.

MCD stock is up 0.5% Monday.
