Worms in Lipton green tea bags is the latest rumor to stir up tea lovers.

Such rumors have been quashed by Middle Eastern health inspectors, confirming the quality of Lipton’s production and processes and excluding the chance of worms or other foreign matters appearing on their products.

Lipton is responding to recent videos that wrongly show animate objects inside a green tea bag, which has been circulating in Middle East social media channels. The Food Health Inspection Department of the Dubai Municipality has cleared the product of such claims.

The agency confirmed this by visiting the Lipton Jebel Ali Factory, which supplies tea to the MENA region, They have also issued a statement on their Facebook, Instagram accounts and official website;

“The Food Safety Management at Dubai Municipality would like to show the consumers the ignorance of such people and advises everyone not to circulate such videos but instead going to the responsible authorities to verify the information and get the correct and trusted scientific answer from official scientific and legal authorities.”

UN stock is down 1.17% Tuesday.
