Twitter Moments to Open to ALL Users Soon

Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) has announced that Twitter Moments will soon be expanded to include all of the website’s users.

Twitter MomentsThe feature was originally designed to showcase some of the most noteworthy, culturally relevant, and socially powerful tweets curated by the company. However, all chosen tweets were created by Twitter users without any interference from the social media site’s employees.

“Today, we’re excited to announce that a broader group of creators will be making Moments, including influencers, partners, brands… and in the coming months, everyone,” Twitter wrote on its blog.

The company adds that Twitter Moments is a more dynamic way to tell a story as it can include links out to photos, videos, news articles, or even a compilation of the best tracks from your favorite musician.

The Twitter Moments account — which you can follow here — currently includes the trailer for the upcoming Netflix show Luke Cage

, news surrounding the Zika virus’ presence in the U.S., Olympics news, and the bizarre news that the NFL’s Tim Tebow is trying his hand in professional baseball.

The account has garnered more than 197,000 followers since its June 2015 inception.

As powerful of a tool as Twitter is, social media is used by some to criticize or troll public figures–the latest case of trolling on the site has targeted Olympians. The company is being criticized for failing to shut down these trollers.

Twitter recently announced a partnership with the NBA to offer more original basketball content on the website.

TWTR stock is up 1.6% Tuesday.
