Harley-Davidson Inc (NYSE:HOG) is cutting 200 jobs across the United States to help it meet estimates.

HOG, Harley-Davidson

Harley-Davidson said that it will be cutting 117 jobs from its assembly plant located in Springettsbury Township, Pa. Employees were notified about the layoffs at a town hall meeting on Wednesday. 102 of the workers are normal employees and 15 are casual workers, who only come in when needed.

The HOG layoffs in Springettsbury Township will start on Oct. 10. The company plans to be finished with them by the end of November. Some employees are being offered a $15,000 buyout. However, not many are expected to take it, reports York Daily Record.

Details about where the other 83 Harley-Davidson job cuts will occur are scare. One report claims that the company will be laying off some workers at its engine plant in Menomonee Falls, Wis. A conflicting report claims that the company won’t be cutting any jobs at this facility.

The reason for the Harley-Davidson jobs cuts have to do with the company’s reduced guidance for 2016. It reduced the number of motorcycles it expects to ship for the year to between 264,000 and 269,000. The previous estimate was in the range of 269,000 to 274,000.

Bernadette Lauer, a Harley spokeswoman, said that the exact number of layoffs are currently unknown. She also said that some of the job cuts will be for positions at the facility that aren’t filled. When asked by York Daily Record about severance packages, she refused to comment on the matter.

HOG shares were down slightly as of Thursday morning.
