The “Halloween Terror” event consists of an expansion of the game with added features, new looks for characters and an event that can be accessed by four players.
Here’s what you should know:
- A new cooperative mode called “Junkenstein’s Revenge” has been launched, which allows four players to battle enemies. The biggest battle comes against “Junkenstein’s Monster,” as well as zomnics.
- Different characters don different costumes, including Reaper wearing a pumpkin on his head, Mercy becoming a witch and Bastion acting like a walking tombstone.
- There are new wall sprays, victory poses and “loot boxes” that look like jack-o’-lanterns.
- Overwatch Halloween Loot Boxes have a number of different cosmetics per character.
- You can play as one of four characters in the cooperative event, including Soldier 76, McCree, Ana or Hanzo. You can’t have the same character as a fellow warrior as choosing a character locks it for the other players.
- The game has already reached 20 million active players, compiling more than 500 million hours among them.
- Overwatch has been huge in both China and South Korea, where it has gained traction, helping the company reach 15 million users earlier in the year.
- The Halloween event can be played in a number of different difficulties, including easy, medium and hard.
- You can buy items from the money you receive in the game.
