Starbucks Corporation (NASDAQ:SBUX) has upset some of its customers by releasing green “Unity” cups instead of Starbucks holiday cups.

The green Unity cups that Starbucks Corporation is handing out to customers have a unique design on them. The design is an image of over 100 people together. It was created by artist Shogo Ota and the entire image was made in one stroke.

The green Unity cups upset customers because they aren’t the red Starbucks holiday cups that typically come out around this time. The green cups were introduced on Tuesday and resulted in some complaints on social media.

Here is what some Twitter Inc (NYSE:TWTR) users have to say about the Starbucks holiday cups controversy.

  • “Trying to figure out a way to be offended by the new holiday Starbucks cup.”
  • “Imagine if people cared as much about protecting our planet as they do the design of the Starbucks annual Holiday cup.”
  • “New Starbucks green holiday cups putting the “Christ” back in Christmas. As in me mumbling, ‘Christ, this is ugly.'”
  • “Trying to figure out how I can possibly get offended by this Starbucks holiday cup. I guess someone will find a way”
  • “November is here and that means a new Starbucks holiday cup for people to complain about. What? It’s green this year? Oh heavens no!”

Starbucks Corporation customers have no reason to worry about the green Unity cups taking the place of the red holiday cups. The Starbucks holiday cups are still on the way and will start showing up on Nov. 10.
