The Maple Pecan Latte is the latest offering from the company, which consists of maple pecan sauce with hints of maple syrup, pecan, brown butter, all mixed together with Starbucks’ classic signature espresso and your choice of steamed milk. It is topped off with orange and white sugar crystals, and you can get it hot or iced.

The MPL adds some competition to the Pumpkin Spice Latte that’s become an iconic part of the Starbucks fall menu for years. The new drink will be available at the company’s stores starting on Sept. 22.

It seems as if the industry has been looking for new ways to appeal to new millennials, who have a constant need to try new, elaborate food and beverage choices that appeal to their so-called refined palette.

Partnering the PSL with the MPL makes a lot of sense due to the fact that the longevity of the PSL has caused many to move away from the drink and stick to traditional coffee drinks such as cappuccinos and mochas.

Perhaps the new Starbucks drink is what the company needs to bring some customers back as it will give them something to start their day off in a delicious way.

SBUX stock fell 0.4% Thursday.
