Airbnb Apartment Building to Be Built Near Disney World

An Airbnb apartment building is coming to life near Disney World.

AirbnbThe company announced that it would be starting construction

on a 324-unit building in Kissimmee, Florida. The move comes following a slate of restrictions and regulations in the state of Florida that have limited the amount of rooms available through Airbnb.

The company is partnering up with Miami-based Newgard Development Group to help in the design of the company’s accommodations from the ground up for home-sharing. Airbnb’s decision offers a threat to the established hotel business surrounding Disney World.

The project is called “Niido Powered by Airbnb” and it is the first complex in the project as others will follow soon after. A number of features will be available at the apartments, including keyless entry systems, making it easy for tenants to allow guests to enter and leave as they please if they’re only staying for a short time.

Tenants will sign annual leases to be able to rent rooms day and night for up to 180 nights a year. The revenue will be shared between the tenants and the landlords who own the unit.

Airbnb hopes the move will help promote its brand as also offering luxury housing options for tourists hoping for a more homely experience. The location makes perfect sense as there are millions of tourists who visit Disney World on a yearly basis.
