Little Caesars Selling DiGiorno Pizzas? Company Explains Viral Video

A video that went viral shows Little Caesars selling DiGiorno pizzas, which sounds very hard to fathom but some customers spotted something unusual at one of the former restaurant’s stores.

Little Caesars Selling DiGiorno

The viral video appears to show the company serving DiGiorno frozen pizzas that may have been cooked up in its ovens and served up to customers. Twitter user @vinandwesson posted the video on his social media account with a caption of “this can’t be happening right in front of me.”

In the video, you see a shot of the Little Caesars’ menu, which is then moved over to a stack of DiGiorno frozen pizza boxes near the pizza oven. As you can imagine, the video sent the internet on a frenzy as it was retweeted more than 45,000 times before the company’s Twitter account decided to respond.

The Little Caesars’ Twitter account wrote that: “Apparently, this store has a trade-in program” as a joke. DiGiorno was not impressed as the company’s Twitter account replied with “Two days to come up with that? Really?”

This is what Little Caesars eventually said about the location, which is in a K-Mart:

“No DiGiorno pizzas were baked or served at this Little Caesars location,” they said in a statement. “On that day, K-Mart received a few complaints from customers about having purchased expired DiGiorno pizzas from that location, and because it was so close to closing time, the K-Mart manager directed his employee to temporarily store them in a cooler adjacent to the Little Caesars location for disposal in the morning.”
