August 2019 has the potential to be a great month for the arts as there are several new movie theater releases coming out throughout the month that seem promising.

The early part of the month will include a new title in the Fast & Furious series, although it’s technically a spin-off that focuses on gritty characters Hobbs & Shaw, as portrayed by Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham respectively in previous movies in the series.

As August progresses, the entire family can enjoy the Dora the Explorer movie, while Shia LaBeouf aficionados may want to check out The Peanut Butter Falcon. The middle of the month sees the second installation of the Angry Birds movie series come to the big screen, as well as new Richard Linklater drama Where’d You Go Bernadette to ignite your adventurous spirit.

The month ends with several other flicks, including Brittany Runs a Marathon, following a woman’s journey to lose weight by training for a marathon.
