daily apple rumors AAPLHere are your Apple rumors and AAPL news items for today:

Unframed: When Apple (AAPL) unveils its next-generation iPhone some time later this year, the new handset’s display may run edge-to-edge, the Korea Herald reports. Sources tell the website that both Apple and Sumsung are looking to introduce smartphones whose screens don’t have bezels this year. Apple is reportedly testing a bezel-free iPhone prototype. Samsung could, however, beat Apple to the punch by ditching bezels — the rims surrounding the display — in its upcoming Galaxy S5, which is expected to debut within the next several months. Recent rumors say that Apple is preparing to launch two separate models of its next flagship iPhone, including one with a 4.7-inch screen and a larger version with a 5.5-inch screen. Various launch times have been suggested for the next iPhone, with most current rumors predicting a September launch, though some sources have said Apple could unveil the new iPhones as soon as June.

Coming: Apple TV fans may not have too much longer to wait for a hardware refresh of the popular video streaming box, according to 9to5Mac. Recent rumors indicate that Apple is gearing up to launch a new generation of Apple TV. A notation for a future Apple TV version — AppleTV4,1 — has been identified inside recent iOS 7 software builds. The version name suggests a significant internal overhaul of the streaming box and supports the idea that Apple could introduce the upgraded Apple TV as early as March. Apple recently gave Apple TV its own page on the online Apple store, boosting its prominence. That move could be a signal that a hardware refresh is approaching.

Switch: Apple may turn to Sony (SNE) to provide the sensors for the main camera on next generation iPhone, Japan’s Nikkei notes. Apple is reportedly in discussions with Sony about a potential deal. Sony currently provides most of the sensors for the iPhone’s rear camera. Recent rumors have painting conflicting pictures about Apple’s plans for the main camera on its upcoming iPhone 6. Some rumors say that Apple will stick with the 8-megapixel sensor found on the current iPhone 5s, while others say that Apple will upgrade the camera with a 10-megapixel sensor and a new aperture.
