The Facebook town would allow employees to have housing from the company without having to be far from their employer. The move toward the social media town is brought by the fact that the company just bought 56 acres in the area, reports The Telegraph.

Facebook bought a 60-acre section of land last summer and its current campus is on 57 acres of land. It’s also preparing to move into an expanded headquarters that takes up 22 acres. The company said that it wouldn’t just build a corporate campus, but that it would incorporate it into the community,

The Telegraph notes.

“This purchase is an investment in our future and the future of Menlo Park. Being a good neighbor is extremely important to us,” a Facebook spokesman told BBC News. “We look forward to continuing our dialogue with city and community leaders on local priorities in the months and years to come.”
