One thing you hear a lot about during the holiday season is guarantees. Quality guarantees. Speed guarantees.
In particular, you can find price guarantees — where retailers will match the competition’s price if you choose to buy from them instead of the other guy — almost anywhere this time of year.
However, eBay‘s (NASDAQ:EBAY) online payment system PayPal is upping the ante. If a user pays with PayPal, and later finds a better deal anywhere, PayPal — not the seller of the item — will reimburse the user.
And according to PayPal, that guarantee is good for all retailers across the board — that differs from retailers like Target‘s (NYSE:TGT) and Best Buy (NYSE:BBY), whose guarantees are only good for a limited number of competitors. However, the guarantee is only good for up to $250 per purchase — up to $1,000 through the end of the promotion on Dec. 31 — and some products, like jewelery and animals, are excluded.
The offer also includes free return shipping, as well as an extended “Bill Me Later,” which allows customers to finance their purchases for up to six months.
