The streaming video service has inked an agreement with BBC Worldwide that will add 144 British TV shows to its library. The multi-year deal includes more than 2,000 episodes of popular shows like MI-5, Torchwood, Luther, Doctor Who and Sherlock, the Wall Street Journal notes.

Most of the BBC shows will require Hulu’s $7.99-a-month subscription to view, though a limited number would appear on its free service, which includes advertisements.

Episodes of some BBC series will begin appearing as early as this week.

BBC Worldwide has signed similar content deals with Amazon (AMZN) and Netflix (NFLX), meaning that some shows are available on multiple streaming platforms.

Hulu is jointly owned by Comcast‘s (CMCSA) NBCUniversal, 21st Century Fox’s (FOXA) Fox Broadcasting and Disney (DIS). Earlier this year Hulu ended talks over a possible sale to Time Warner Cable (TWC).
