Sprint (S), announced on Tuesday, that it is launching its new “framily” plan.

Sprint-framily-planCNET’s coverage of Sprint’s family plan mentions a few things about the plan that are worth knowing.

  • The plan can support anywhere from one to 10 lines.
  • A single person on the plan would pay $55 for unlimited talk and text and 1GB of data.
  • Adding an additional line nets a discount of $5 for everyone on the plan.
  • The maximum discount of $30 is reached when seven people are on the framily plan.
  • Each member of the plan can choose to receive an individual bill.
  • Each line can have an additional 3 GB of data added for $10 a month.
  • Each line can pay $20 a month for unlimited data and the ability buy a new phone yearly.
  • The framily plan will launch on Jan. 10 and is available to new and existing Sprint customers.

While the framily plan seems great on paper, not everyone thinks it will work.

“I don’t think there are that many people ready to throw in their lot with their friends,” Roger Entner, a Recon Analytics analyst, told The Chicago Tribune. “This could be a source of endless drama worthy of a soap opera, when the framily plan turns into a frenemies plan.”
