The Amazon credit card reader was recently rumored to be added to Staples’ (SPLS) stock. This would have the reader selling alongside the retailer’s own credit car reader and one from eBay’s (EBAY) Paypal, reports PC Magazine.

According to the rumored documents that show the Amazon credit card reader being added to Staples stock, the device will cost $10. This is cheaper than the $15 asking price for Staples’ and Paypal’s credit card readers. The credit card reader is also rumored to be launching on August 12, and floor plans for Staples seem to confirm this, PC Magazine notes.

If Amazon does launch a credit card reader app, it’s possible that it will link up with its recently released Wallet app. However, the current version of the Wallet app doesn’t allow users to store funds. Instead, the app is used to keep track of gift card balances and reward points.
