A new Facebook (FB) scam is feeding off of the victims of the MH17 crash.

FB News: Beware the 'Facebook Lottery' Scam

The scam shows up on fake pages of the victims of the MH17 crash. These pages share links that claim to show video of the MH17 crash. However, when the link is clicked on, users are taken to a website with several suspicious popups, reports Mashable.

“When a disaster like this happens it’s a great opportunity for all sorts of scammers,” Ken Gamble, chairman of the Australian chapter of the International Association of Cybercrime Prevention, told Daily Mail. “Everybody is out there looking for information at the moment, everyone wants to know more about what’s happened.”

There are also reports that credit cards and debit cards have been stolen from the bodies of MH17 crash victims. This new comes after the site of the crash was investigated and most of the luggage in the area was found to have been opened and rummaged through, Mashable notes.
