If you think consumers and investors are excited about the new Apple Inc. (AAPL) iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, imagine what CEO Tim Cook and the rest of the company must be feeling.
Cupertino announced a record number of first-day preorders, showing just how many people were waiting around for Apple to do something worth talking about.
September 26 is the Date
At this point, many countries are getting ready for the availability of the new iPhones on Friday, Sept. 19. It is at this time that walk-in customers will be able to make a purchase, if they are lucky enough to arrive in time.
However, the fact that the devices will be available in an additional 20 countries on the 26th of this month will really help take things to the next level. At that time, consumers in countries such as Austria, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand and Taiwan, among others, will be able to get in on the action.
Tim Cook showed his excitement by saying:
“Pre-orders for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus set a new record for Apple, and we can’t wait to get our best iPhones yet into the hands of customers starting this Friday.”
In many cases, the first few days after a launch are the best in terms of sales and excitement. While things are definitely looking up for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus at this time, it is crazy to think that the best has yet to come. Cook and company have a couple of winners on their hands this time around.
