Modern Family actress Elizabeth Pena died on Tuesday.

The versatile actress was 55-years-old when she was found dead in Los Angeles. Elizabeth Pena died of natural causes following a brief illness, according to manager Gina Rugolo.

Elizabeth Pena was born in Elizabeth, New Jersey but spent her early years in Cuba.
She moved to New York City at the age of 8 and graduated from the city’s High School of Performing Arts in 1977.
Pena made her film debut in 1979 in El Super, a Cuban film that examines life in the US from the perspective of Cuban exiles.
The actress enjoyed a successful film career that included roles in La Bamba, Down and Out in Beverly Hills and The Incredibles.
She also had a prominent TV career, including roles in Modern Family and L.A. Law.
