Google (GOOG) Play may soon start offering free trials of paid apps.

The Google Play trials would allow users to test out apps before paying for them. Trials and demos for games and apps are already available on PCs, but haven’t had much movement on mobile devices, reports Droid Gamers.

If Google Play implements its trials feature, it would allow users to try apps without having to download a demo version of the app. This would also be beneficial to developers as they wouldn’t have to create a separate app just for a demo, Droid Gamer notes.

The addition of trials to Google Play could help the marketplace sell more apps. It’s estimated that the app marketplace made $1.3 million from apps in 2013. However, Apple’s (AAPL) App Store brought in $10 billion during this time, reports Pocket Gamer.
