The Amazon Wallet app entered its beta stage six months ago and the company started informing users that it was being shutdown on Tuesday. A spokesman for the company said that it will try to take what it’s learned from the app and apply it in other areas, reports Cnet.

According to TechCrunch, the closure of the Amazon Wallet app won’t affect Amazon Local Register. The company is also leaving the door open so that it could possibly introduce a new version of the app in the future.
