twitter-abuse-twtrAmong the new Twitter features designed to combat abuse is one that makes it easier to report problems on the social media service. This includes streamlining the process for reporting impersonation, self-harm and sharing of private information. The company says it can now handle five times as many reports than it did before the changes.

The changes to reporting and making it easier to do were released on Thursday. The company said that the feature will continue to spread and will be available to everyone for use in the next few weeks. Complimenting these changes are new punishments for accounts that break the rules. The company didn’t say what these new disciplinary actions were.

The changes to Twitter’s reporting feature and how it handles trolls and abuse comes a few weeks after its CEO said “”we suck at dealing with abuse,” when talking about the social media service, reports The Verge.
