An Amazon (NASDAQ:AMZN) Prime free trial ad has been banned in the United Kingdom for its misleading nature.

amazon-prime-free-trial-amznThe banned Amazon Prime free trial ad offered people a potential free 30-days of the service. In small text at the bottom, it stated that a paid subscription would start after the free trial was over. However, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) didn’t feel this was prominent enough, reports The Guardian.

The ASA also found the Amazon Prime free trial ad to be misleading because it didn’t say how much a Prime subscription would cost after the free trial ended. The ad also didn’t include the fee for watching videos through its service, despite the streaming videos being mentioned in the ad, The Guardian notes.

Amazon claims that the automatic sign up mentioned in the Amazon Prime free trial ad isn’t as bad as people may think. The company said that it offers refunds for users that have mistakenly signed up for the service and not used its features, reports International Business Times.
