The new Google app store ratings are designed to offer a quick and clear look at what apps are designed for different users. The company has teamed up with the International Age Rating Coalition, Entertainment Software Rating Board, Pan-European Game Information  and others to set the ratings.

Developers with apps in the Google app store are asked to complete a rating questionnaire to determine what audience their apps are suitable for. Failure to do this could cause those apps to be removed from the store. New apps will also need to go through the questionnaire to determine their ratings.

The Google app store also includes reviews from actual members of the company’s team. These members have reviewed apps to make sure their content is appropriate for the online store. Developers will also be given details as to why their apps weren’t allowed on the store if they are rejected.
