A new update to Google Inc’s (NASDAQ:GOOG,NASDAQ:GOOGL) Messenger app adds a quick reply feature.
Users of Google Messenger now have the option of clicking a “Reply” button that appears when they are sent a text through the app. This lets them answer the text without actually having to go into the app, reports Android Authority.
While the quick reply feature added to Google Messenger is a nice addition, it doesn’t do everything. If a message has a photo or video attached to it, users won’t be able to respond via the Reply button. They also can’t add attachments of any kind when looking to send a quick reply, Android Authority notes.
Users of Google Messenger may not see the update immediately, but it is being rolled out. Impatient users can download the app’s apk file from Droid Life to manually add the update to the app.
