Facebook Inc’s (NASDAQ:FB) Instagram has updated its nudity rules.

instagram-nudity-fbInstagram is changing up its rules to better inform users of what they can post on the social media platform. This update includes details on what nudity is and isn’t allowed on the service.

In the update, Instagram notes that users aren’t allowed to post photos of “sexual intercourse, genitals, and close-ups of fully-nude buttocks.” It also says that female nipples aren’t typically allowed. However, there are exceptions for women breastfeeding and post-mastectomy scarring.

Instagram’s nudity rules also don’t completely ban nudity. If the nudity is part of a photo of a painting or sculpture, then it’s allowed on the service.

The updated nudity rules for Instagram also notes that the company may choose to remove photos of nude or partially-nude children that are posted by users. The rules state that these photos may be posted without any negative ideas, but that they could be misused.
